APEGA Summit Awards
Nominations for the 2023 Summit Awards are open!
Nominate an innovative engineer, geoscientist, or project (you can even nominate yourself!) before September 15, 2022.
Each year, APEGA recognizes professional engineers and professional geoscientists who have made outstanding contributions to the professions or to the community. Up to 11 awards are presented each year, chosen from nominations sent in by fellow members, colleagues, students, and the public.

There are 11 different awards available to be awarded to individuals, teams, or projects. Each category has its own criteria, so be sure to read up on what we're looking for before you start your nomination.
This award is presented to an individual who has made significant improvements to a community in need through efforts in the engineering or geoscience profession.
This award is presented to an individual who has shown exceptional development and accomplishment early in their professional career in engineering or geoscience.
Environment and Sustainability
This award is presented to an individual, team, or project that encourages sustainable and environmentally friendly engineering or geoscience processes.
Excellence in Education
This award is presented to an individual who has taught students of engineering or geoscience to the highest of standards at a recognized post-secondary institution in Alberta.
Frank Spragins Technical
This award is presented to an individual who has been recognized by their peers for their integrity, technical expertise, and accomplishments in engineering or geoscience.
This award is presented to an individual who is not an APEGA member and has greatly improved society and the engineering or geoscience professions.
This award is presented to an individual who has excelled as a mentor and who have supported and contributed to their mentees’ or proteges’ ongoing development.
This award is presented to an engineering or geoscience project that contributes new technologies, processes, or innovations for the improvement of society.
This award is presented to an individual, team, or project that has conducted research in engineering and geoscience that has improved our economic and social well-being.
Women in Engineering and Geoscience Champion
This award is presented to an individual, team, or organization that supports women in engineering and geoscience with diversity initiatives and inspirational support.
