APEGA Summit Awards

Each year, APEGA recognizes professional engineers and professional geoscientists who have made outstanding contributions to the professions or to the community. Up to 10 awards are presented each year, chosen from nominations sent in by fellow members, colleagues, students, and the public.

Centennial Leadership

This award is presented to an APEGA professional member whose leadership excellence advanced the engineering or geoscience profession in Alberta.

Community Service

This award is presented to an APEGA member or permit holder that has used engineering or geoscience to make significant improvements to an Alberta community.

Early Accomplishment

This award is presented to an APEGA professional member who has shown exceptional accomplishment early in their engineering or geoscience career.

Environment and Sustainability

This award is presented to an APEGA member or permit holder that implemented sustainable or environmentally friendly engineering or geoscience processes.

Excellence in Education

This award is presented to members of APEGA who have made exemplary contributions to teaching and learning at a recognized post-secondary institution in Alberta.

Frank Spragins Technical Achievement

This award is presented to an APEGA member or permit holder that has implemented innovative engineering or geoscience technology that has improved the lives of Albertans.

Outstanding Mentor

This award is presented to an individual who has excelled as a mentor and who have supported and contributed to their mentees’ or proteges’ ongoing development.

Project Achievement

This award is presented to an engineering or geoscience project that contributes new technologies, processes, or innovations for the improvement of society.

Research Excellence

This award is presented to an APEGA member or permit holder that has conducted research in engineering or geoscience that has improved the lives of Albertans.

Women in Engineering and Geoscience Champion

This award is presented to an individual, team, or organization that supports women in engineering and geoscience with diversity initiatives and inspirational support.
