    The Professional Practice Review Advisor is responsible to evaluate whether APEGA permit holders and their licensed professionals understand and comply with their professional, legal and ethical obligations.

    As a professional practice ambassador of APEGA, the incumbent is an advisor to stakeholders including: the Public, APEGA staff, Licensed Professionals, and Permit Holders. Focused on protection of the public and maintaining the public’s trust and confidence in APEGA, the Advisor works with Permit Holders to exercise self-regulation by providing guidance and advice on permit to practice issues as required.  The Senior Advisor assists APEGA Staff, Statutory Boards and Committees, and Council on regulatory matters and assure the health of engineering and geoscience practice in Alberta.

    In addition, the Professional Practice Review Advisor is a "subject matter expert" on the practice of engineering and geoscience within Alberta and nationally, providing support to the Practice Review Manager, Director, Professional Practice, the Practice Review Board (PRB) and its subcommittees, and to the Practice Standards Committee (PSC) and its sub-committees, to provide updates and professional practice expertise and advice as required.

  • Location: Edmonton

    Reporting to the Professional Practice Standards Manager, the Professional Practice Standards Advisor is responsible to develop, maintain, and revise APEGA’s professional practice standards, guidelines, and bulletins.

    As a professional practice ambassador of APEGA, you are a principal advisor to all stakeholders - the public, licensed professionals, and permit holders. Focused on ensuring the public interest is protected, and that APEGA earns and maintains the confidence of its membership and the public, the Professional Practice Standards Advisor assists Staff, APEGA Statutory Boards and Committees, and Council to exercise self-regulation by providing guidance and advice on practice standards, guidelines, and bulletins, as well as the practice standards development process.

    In addition, the Professional Practice Standards Advisor is a "subject matter expert" on the practice of engineering and geoscience within Alberta and nationally, providing support to the Manager, Practice Standards, Director, Professional Practice, the Practice Review Board (PRB) and its subcommittees, including the Practice Standards Subcommittee (PSSC) and its subject matter expert panels, to provide updates and professional practice expertise and advice as required.

    Full Position Description: Professional Practice Standards Advisor

  • Location: Edmonton

    Reporting to the Supervisor, Registration & Mobility Services, the Registration Services & Program Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of Registration Services related program delivery, documents, and functions. This includes, but is not limited to, providing high quality service and support to applicants through processing request for application updates, answering emails and phone calls, member applicant follow up and documentation, first tier technical support and assistance with the myAPEGA portal.

    This position prioritizes Inter Provincial Mobility Applications (IPMAs) in alignment with Bill 49: Labour Mobility Act, and works on in-depth service related tasks affecting potential and current applicants.

    Full Position Description: Registration Services and Program Administrator

  • Location: Edmonton

    Reporting to the Council Relations Manager, the Council Relations Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Council activities outside of the Council Cycle and day-to-day running of the Council Relations department, with EA support to the Senior Advisor & Director, Council Relations. This includes the complete planning and successful execution of the President's annual visits to APEGA's 9 Branches, providing executive support in a one-on-one working relationship, complete management of the Senior Advisor & Director, Council Relations Outlook calendar, meeting logistics, annually building the draft department budget and support in monthly financial monitoring.  This role provides tactical support to the Council Relations Manager in running the annual Nominations process, Election’s process, and the AGM.

    This position also provides secondary administrative support to the Registrar & CEO and Deputy Registrar and Chief Regulatory Officer as required.
