Vermilion River Branch

Message from the Chair

Our branch is based primarily out of Lloydminster, AB; Canada’s only border city. However our members live and work in many smaller communities in the surrounding areas from Hardsity to Dewberry, and from the AB/SK border as far west as Vegreville. Being geographically spread out across many small communities poses unique challenges for us. But with any challenge comes opportunity!

As a branch, our focus is on student outreach and creating meaningful engagement with APEGA membership. We achieve this by organizing and volunteering at events such as the APEGA Science Olympics, STEM nights, and hosting social/networking events, as well as providing members an opportunity to provide feedback on the issues that matter through member forums and president’s visits.

However we can’t do this without your involvement and support. If you are located in the Vermilion River Branch area and would like to find out more information or if you’re interested in volunteering and supporting the branch and our objectives, please email us at [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you!

Branch Executive

APEGA’s branch executive committees are an integral part of APEGA operations and are governed by the branch manual. The committee includes up to 15 appointed volunteers, including members-at-large and five core positions: chair, past-chair, vice-chair, treasurer, and secretary. The branch chair is responsible for running the branch. To ensure consistency among branches, chairs from all branches meet quarterly to discuss branch governance and business.
