Medicine Hat Branch
Message from the Chair
Welcome to the APEGA Medicine Hat Branch page. It is an honor to serve as chair for 2026 and to support our engineering and geoscience professionals across Medicine Hat and the many surrounding communities we call home. Our branch has a long history of dedicated volunteers who understand the importance of local engagement, professional connection, and fostering the next generation of engineers and geoscientists. I am grateful to continue building on that foundation.
In the year ahead, our Executive Committee will focus on strengthening member engagement, enhancing the visibility of our professions, and supporting APEGA’s strategic priorities within our region. This includes delivering meaningful professional development opportunities, expanding collaboration with local STEM and innovation partners, and creating spaces—both in person and virtual—where members can connect, learn, and share their expertise. We will also continue our commitment to outreach through science nights, classroom visits, and events that inspire curiosity in students across southeastern Alberta—in person and virtual—where members can connect, learn, and share their expertise.
Our branch thrives because of the passion and involvement of our members. Whether you are interested in volunteering, attending events, offering feedback, or simply connecting with peers, your participation makes a real difference. We welcome your ideas and encourage you to join us at our monthly meetings, professional development sessions, and community activities throughout the year.
Thank you for your continued support of the Medicine Hat Branch and for the work you do every day to uphold the standards of our professions. I look forward to working alongside you to make 2026 a year of growth, collaboration, and community impact.
If you would like to get involved or learn more about our initiatives, please reach out to us at [email protected] or find us on Facebook at APEGA Medicine Hat Branch. I hope to see you at our upcoming events.
Branch Executive

The committee includes up to 15 appointed volunteers, including members-at-large and five core positions: chair, past-chair, vice-chair, treasurer, and secretary. The branch chair is responsible for running the branch. To ensure consistency among branches, chairs from all branches meet quarterly to discuss branch governance and business.
