Vermilion River Branch

Message from the Chair

The APEGA Vermilion River Branch’s almost 300 members are spread from Vegreville all the way to the Saskatchewan border, running right through the middle of Lloydminster, AB/SK—the base for the branch itself. While the geography of our branch can pose some challenges, it also brings a unique sense of diversity and different perspectives with members working in many different sectors and coming from different backgrounds.

Our core branch initiatives centre on promoting student outreach in the communities within our region and providing opportunities for networking and peer engagement among our members. Some examples include organizing events such as the APEGA Science Olympics, school science nights, student career presentations, social/networking events, and professional development seminars and presentations. We are always open to feedback from our members on new events or initiatives they want to see, and the door is always open to anyone who wishes to volunteer.

If you are located in the Vermilion River Branch area and would like to find out more information or if you’re interested in volunteering and supporting the branch and our objectives, please email us at [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you!

Branch Executive

APEGA’s branch executive committees are an integral part of APEGA operations and are governed by the branch manual. The committee includes up to 15 appointed volunteers, including members-at-large and five core positions: chair, past-chair, vice-chair, treasurer, and secretary. The branch chair is responsible for running the branch. To ensure consistency among branches, chairs from all branches meet quarterly to discuss branch governance and business.
