Message from the Chair

Welcome to the Calgary Branch page! On behalf of the Calgary Branch Executive Committee, we are pleased to connect with our members and extend a warm welcome to those joining us for the first time.

As the largest branch in the province, Calgary proudly represents over 34,000 members across our 97 communities. Our goal is to create opportunities that bring our professional community together through networking, learning, and special events to meet peers who share our commitment to engineering and geoscience.

In 2026, we look forward to continuing all the wonderful events that have become cornerstones of our branch, such as the professional development events (technical and soft skills), which include in-person sessions, luncheons, and webinars. We will also have a variety of social and networking events, the outreach programs for our youth and our Indigenous community, and informative sessions for future members. We are also excited to once again hold our annual golf tournament, a long-standing favorite, to continue giving members the chance to build relationships and strengthen ties within the profession.

None of this would be possible without the involvement and support of our members and volunteers. Your participation, feedback, and willingness to contribute make the Calgary Branch successful. We invite you to stay connected, share your ideas, and consider volunteering with us. Your voice plays an important role in shaping our initiatives.

Branch Executive

APEGA’s branch executive committees are an integral part of APEGA operations and are governed by the branch manual. The committee includes up to 15 appointed volunteers, including members-at-large and five core positions: chair, past-chair, vice-chair, treasurer, and secretary. The branch chair is responsible for running the branch. To ensure consistency among branches, chairs from all branches meet quarterly to discuss branch governance and business.
