Requesting Reassessment of Your Application Decision
When submitting a Request for Reassessment, you must do so within 90 days of receiving the Board of Examiner's (BOE’s) decision letter.
If you miss this deadline, you will not be eligible to request a reassessment. You must either accept the BOE’s decision and continue with your application or withdraw and submit a new application later.
To request a reassessment, email [email protected] with:
- a completed Request for Reassessment application, including payment information
- payment of the non-refundable reassessment fee of $225 plus GST
- a letter addressed to the BOE outlining the details of your request, along with any supporting materials
- information or materials that should have been included with your original application but were not previously submitted. This may include:
- a World Education Services Course-by-Course International Credential Advantage Package (WES ICAP Course-by-Course) report¹
- transcripts
- course descriptions²
- work experience records
1: WES-ICAP report (course-by-course): This report only confirms the level of your Canadian-equivalent education including masters degree, bachelors degree, diploma, or college-level certificate. The BOE will decide if the content and quality of your education is acceptable to be licensed in engineering or geoscience.
2: Course descriptions: These may come directly from your institution, you may send copies that are available on your institution’s website, or you may send us original official university material such as the course or program listing, academic calendar, or catalogue. Course description content must be the same as during the time of your studies.
Should I Include a WES ICAP Course-by-Course Report?
-
If you have been assigned the Fundamentals of Engineering exam or the Fundamentals of Geology exam to confirm the quality of your education and test your understanding of previously studied material, submitting a WES ICAP Course-by-Course report will not change the BOE's decision.
-
If you have been assigned a course-by-course assessment to address perceived academic deficiencies in your education, it is in your best interest to provide a WES ICAP Course-by-Course report to support claims about the type or length of your education, its content, or its Canadian equivalency. If you choose not to provide this documentation, your request for reassessment may be denied.
