Tracey Stock, P.Eng.

Professional engineer Tracey Stock is an energy industry leader with more than 40 years of experience in Canada, the United States, and Southeast Asia. He blends his law and engineering practices to evaluate resource properties, negotiate transactions, draft agreements, and manage closings. He also works as a part-time hearing commissioner for the Alberta Energy Regulator.

Stock has a bachelor of arts in chemistry (Queen’s University, 1982), a bachelor of applied science in chemical engineering (University of Toronto, 1982), and a juris doctor (University of Calgary, 1988). He has been a member of the Law Society of Alberta since 1989, and received his master of business administration in information technology management from Athabasca University in 2001. He earned his doctor of philosophy in resources and the environment from the University of Calgary in 2011.

Stock is an avid volunteer, having served on the APEGA Investigative Committee and the APEGA-ASET Joint Investigative Committee. He was first elected to APEGA Council in 2021, transitioning to vice-president in 2022. He proudly represented the professional engineers and geoscientists of Alberta as council president in 2024–2025. Stock received the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers and an APEGA Summit Award in 2017 and was named to the King’s Counsel in 2022.
