Webinar | Masterclass in Hydrogen Safety

29 May 2024
Register by May 28, 2024

Hydrogen is a key emerging fuel that can support the decarbonization of multiple sectors to support the goal of net zero. Both the US and Canada have committed significant funds to support the development of the hydrogen economy. In this masterclass we will review the key properties of hydrogen, the impact of these properties, potential risks and risk mitigation measures, and lessons learned based on global incidents. Hydrogen safety resources that can be valuable in supporting de-risking of hydrogen projects, will also be identified.

About the Presenter

Faiez Sallie holds the position of vice-president of hydrogen and emerging fuels at Mott MacDonald and has also held the position of global practice leader for fuels, networks and storage. He leverages his nearly 30 years of experience across various industries and background in chemical engineering, business, and commerce to help clients navigate the complexities of the energy transition and emerging fuels space.

He serves as the new energies lead for North America, covering hydrogen, CCUS, carbon dioxide transport, ammonia, methanol, RNG, and Power to X. He has led and supported multiple projects. Selected project examples include hydrogen blending in natural gas pipelines for INGAA, hybrid renewable energy to green hydrogen in California, technical support on NortH2 (a 4GW green hydrogen project in the Netherlands), Blue Hydrogen to Blue Ammonia for export in the US, and support to one of the largest e-fuels projects in North America.

He regularly participates and presents at hydrogen and CCUS conferences and has delivered presentations in the US, Middle East, Europe, and Africa. He is a thought leader in energy transition, and selected examples include “Navigating the complexities of the hydrogen economy,” “Anchoring hydrogen in the U.S - the role of ports,” and “The role of natural gas in the energy transition.”
