Webinar | Politics of Energy

Register by May 8, 2024

The Politics of Division seems to dominate every major global issue today, including energy. In Canada, the energy discussion is highly polarized. Global demand for energy is continuing to grow at a phenomenal rate, but the threat of human-caused climate change is forcing us to explore new ways of producing the energy our modern world needs.

There seems to be consensus that net zero is the destination we ultimately need to reach, but the timeframes and approaches continue to be hotly debated. This has resulted in a narrative that pits renewables against fossil fuels, demanding that we choose a side. Dan Balaban believes that this narrative is false, unproductive, and unnecessarily polarized.

Solutions to complex issues are often found in the middle. As an entrepreneur behind some of Canada’s largest renewable energy projects, Dan shares his views on the energy transition and the role for Alberta and Canada in a net-zero future.

Brought to you by the Calgary Branch. Everyone is welcome to attend.
