Webinar | What You Need to Know About Contract Law

18 Apr 2024
Register by April 16, 2024

Lack of understanding of contractual terms or failing to pay attention to significant clauses can create payment and legal risk, which are otherwise avoidable. In this session, we will review significant clauses and terms that specifically affect engineering firms and work. Using case law and practice examples, we will illustrate how firms can mitigate or avoid risks in standard form and specifically negotiated contracts.

Learning objectives

  • How are limitation of liability clauses treated by the courts?
  • What are implied or unwritten terms of contracts?
  • How do entire agreement clauses effect pre-contractual representations?
  • How can dispute resolution clauses limit or modify adjudication of disputes?
  • How does the new prompt payment regime in Alberta effect engineering firms?

This session will be held through ON24.
