Quench your thirst for knowledge on this tour! Learn how beer's most important ingredient, malt, is made from the lowly barley seed. See how locally grown barley is transformed in this process.

This tour will include the sprouting, kilning, and roasting processes associated with malt production.

Rahr Malting, located on the east side of Alix, along Highway 12, is a world-class malt production facility and ships malt around the world.

Closed-toe shoes are required. There will be stairs and slippery surfaces during this tour so it is recommended to bring shoes with grip. You will be required to complete a waiver and information form on the day of the tour. You cannot take photos inside the plant during the tour.
