APEGA Councillor Steps Down

Theresa Watson, P.Eng., has stepped down as an APEGA councillor as of September 9 due to family health concerns. She has been a valuable member of Council for the past three years. Her wisdom, wit, and passion on Council will be missed, and we send well wishes to her and her family during this difficult time. Watson was elected in 2020, with her term set to expire in April 2023.

When a vacancy occurs midterm, APEGA Council has the mandate to appoint a replacement until the next regular election as per Section 27(1) of the General Regulation. Council has selected Geoffrey Kneller, P.Eng., MBA, CD, to fill the vacancy until the 2023 election. Kneller’s role as councillor became effective on September 12.

Kneller previously served as a councillor in 2021–2022, was part of the Legislative Review Champion Collaborative from 2014 to 2016, and has been a long-serving volunteer on the Enforcement Review Committee. His experience and familiarity with Council processes will provide a smooth transition.
