The search is now underway for qualified candidates to run in APEGA Election 2020 to join our diverse Council during APEGA’s centennial year. Nominations are open now and will remain open until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2019.

Interested in running?

To begin the nomination process, log in to the Member Self-Service Centre and complete the online nomination form. As part of your nomination, you will need to provide the following items:

  • support of your nomination from 25 professional members in good standing
  • your current resume or curriculum vitae
  • an explanation of why you want to run for Council (up to 700 words)
  • a self-rating of your skills and experience
  • other supporting documents (optional)

All candidates who complete the requirements will appear on the ballot. Additionally, APEGA’s Nominating Committee will review the completed submissions to determine which candidates it will recommend.

Nominating Committee Recommendation

The Nominating Committee evaluates all candidates' qualifications, experience, skills, and professional and governance expertise, then compares that information to gaps of expertise that will be created by outgoing Councillors who have completed their term in office.

This approach balances the level of knowledge and expertise on Council that ultimately results in a stronger and more effective Council. APEGA has made available the characteristics of a great Councillor.

The ballot will show the names of all candidates who have successfully fulfilled the nomination requirements, and it will indicate the candidates who received a recommendation.

2020 Election Dates

Candidate names will be released to voters in December 2019. Voting will begin on February 3, 2020, and will run until March 5, 2020.
