Webinar | EVs Unplugged: A Technical and Practical Overview
Electric cars are still relatively new and every day, new truths (and half-truths) about their pros and cons hit the news. So, what is the scoop with electric cars (and vans, and trucks)? Do you know there are three different "kinds" of EVs? How well do they work in our lovely Canadian winters? How much do they cost to run and maintain? These are just some of the questions we'll talk about before revealing which type of EV might be the least known but most superior (by a long shot) for the average North American driver, and they're so much fun to drive.
Brought to you by the Medicine Hat Branch, everyone is welcome to attend.

About the speaker
Rob Ferguson, P.Eng. is a semi-retired professional engineer, born and raised in Brandon, MB, spending the other half of his life in the great province of Alberta.
So far in his professional engineering career, Rob has worked for TC Energy (Calgary, Winnipeg and Medicine Hat), Pembina Pipelines (North Dakota, Saskatchewan & Medicine Hat) and with the City of Medicine Hat (Gas and Electric Distribution). He semi retired at the end of February 2025, and recently completed his life insurance and segregated fund licensing in Alberta to pursue another lifelong passion—personal finance.
Rob's interest in EVs started around 2011 with the purchase of a Toyota Highlander Hybrid from the US, when the Canadian Dollar was worth over $1.05 US and EVs were less expensive and more plentiful in the US. He's owned or driven six different EVs and plans to add another in the next year, so it's safe to say he's a (knowledgeable) fan.
