APEGA Offers Condolences After Crescent Falls Tragedy

It is with great sorrow APEGA has learned of the untimely deaths of three family members who were swept away by a waterfall in west-central Alberta on Tuesday night.

 “We offer our heartfelt condolences to everyone affected by this tragedy,” said APEGA Registrar & CEO Jay Nagendran, P.Eng. “To lose loved ones, friends, and colleagues is heartbreaking, especially under these circumstances.”

A family member has confirmed the identity of one of the deceased as Anoop Kumar Oad, an exchange student from Pakistan who was studying engineering at the University of Alberta.

 “We regret this loss to our future professional community,” said Nagendran, “and to the family of an individual who would have achieved great things in his lifetime as a professional engineer.”
