About the presenter
Dr. Dawn Gruchy, Pharm. D, MACP, originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland, obtained a combined undergraduate degree in psychology/biology with a concentration in neuropsychology from Memorial University. Upon completion, Dawn was accepted in the pharmacy program at the University of Alberta. Dawn worked as a pharmacist for many years before the drive for further education led her to obtaining her doctorate of pharmacy from the University of Florida. Dawn, as a pharmacist, also was one of the early successful candidates to obtain prescriptive authority in the province of Alberta. Not satisfied with this, Dawn chose to pursue a lifelong dream of being a counselling psychologist and completed her master of arts in counselling psychology from Yorkville University.
Dawn currently counsels in Lethbridge, Alberta, while maintaining her professional status as a prescribing pharmacist, both in person and virtually, with a specialty in complex trauma and related issues such as anxiety, life transitions, and functional neurological disorders. Dawn is married to an engineer and has 20+ years of experience relating to and effectively communicating with an engineer.
