Webinar | Engineering Judgement in Isolation Planning

12 May 2026
Register by May 11

This one-hour technical webinar is designed for practising engineers who review, endorse, or advise on isolation plans that are less than double block and bleed or positive isolation. The session will provide a practical, engineering-focused lens on what to challenge before first break, including:

  • the key information operations should bring to engineering for single-block isolation reviews
  • why the specific valve type and seat design used for isolation materially affects risk
  • requirements to verify zero energy
  • whether the monitoring and contingency plans will regain control fast enough to outpace hazard escalation
  • how to frame defensible engineering isolation reviews while still accounting for operational flexibility requirements

This session is not procedural training and will not replace company standards. The goal is to strengthen professional judgement, improve the quality of isolation reviews, and support safer, more defensible decisions in operational contexts.
