EPCOR’s E.L. Smith Water Treatment Plant supplies water to nearly one million customers in Edmonton and surrounding communities, and the kîsikâw pîsim solar farm generates approximately half of the power used at the facility. This tour will include a short presentation on site logistics, processes, the solar farm, and battery storage, followed by a walking tour of the facility.
The tour will also include discussion of EPCOR’s multi-year flood mitigation project under construction, which will protect the region’s water treatment plants to a 1-in-500-year flood level.
