Webinar | The Essential Role of Flow and Energy Metering

09 Apr 2026
Register by April 8

The session will highlight measurement technologies and the importance of accuracy and repeatability, along with installation considerations such as straight-run requirements and compatibility with different materials and fluids. Finally, we’ll address lifecycle factors—warranty, calibration, fouling, serviceability, and data utilization—to ensure long-term reliability and performance.

We’ll examine where meters are most commonly installed, including plant-level energy usage, primary versus secondary loop verification, and equipment control or failsafe applications. Special emphasis will be placed on terminal equipment performance in large systems, heat exchangers prone to fouling, and mission-critical facilities such as data centres. On the airside, topics include ventilation compliance, supply/return balancing, and pressurization control.

This presentation will explore the essential role of flow and energy metering in HVAC and hydronic systems, focusing on how accurate measurement drives efficiency, reliability, and compliance. Key applications include energy accountability for cost tracking and carbon reporting, system optimization to improve chiller and renewable energy performance, and operational diagnostics for benchmarking and troubleshooting. Metering also supports tenant billing and cost allocation in accordance with Measurement Canada requirements, as well as outdoor air verification for ventilation compliance.
