What are you looking forward to in the year ahead?

I’m looking forward to collaborating with our new registrar and CEO, professional engineer Paul Wynnyk, who is going to add so much to our organization as we continue the important work of self-regulation.

I am also eager to finally see the modernization of engineering and geoscience legislation after 10 years of hard work by professionals, the Government of Alberta, and APEGA staff. The Professional Governance Act, introduced in March, is a flexible, modern way for us to continue our great work as a regulator.

What is your message to APEGA registrants for your term as president?

As APEGA Council president, I want to thank registrants and permit holders for the value they add to their organizations and to our community, improving the quality of life and safety for all Albertans.

I also want to thank our more than 6,000 volunteers, who give their time to the professions, for their dedication. I am looking forward to working with all of you in the year ahead.
