Webinar | From Concept to FID: Aligning Project Success with EPC Structures
Major industrial projects are being reshaped by carbon policy, commodity uncertainty, power constraints, and rising expectations around execution certainty. In March 2026, U.S. Energy Corp. announced the final investment decision (FID) on its Big Sky Carbon Hub in Montana and confirmed CANUSA EPC as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor under a fixed-scope EPC engagement. The project combines helium production, CO₂ recovery and sequestration, and enhanced oil recovery, with an initial design basis of approximately 8.0 MMcf/d inlet capacity, about 12 MMcf/year of helium production, and roughly 125,000 metric tonnes per year of refined CO₂, targeting commercial operations in Q1 2027.
This webinar will explore the Big Sky Carbon Hub as a practical case study to demonstrate how engineers can improve project outcomes when technical design, commercial drivers, regulatory requirements, and execution risk must all be aligned from concept through construction. This session will examine the engineering decisions that help move an unconventional industrial facility from development to FID and into execution: scope definition, process integration, long-lead equipment strategy, constructability, and project acceleration. Attendees will also leave the webinar with an understanding of how thoughtful management of all process streams can drive additional value for project developers in the modern era.
