Webinar | Confronting Conversations: A Practical Framework for Engineers and Geoscientists

26 Aug 2026
Register by August 25

Difficult conversations are part of the job, but because they can feel uncomfortable, they're often avoided. Over time, that can lead to bigger challenges that affect teams, projects, and working relationships.

This session provides a practical framework to prepare for and lead confronting conversations with confidence and clarity. Grounded in real-world experience with technical teams, participants will learn how to communicate directly while maintaining trust, reducing defensiveness, and improving outcomes. It also integrates inclusive communication practices, helping participants navigate conversations across different perspectives while ensuring people feel heard and respected.

The focus is on tools that can be applied immediately in day-to-day work.

Learning objectives:

  • how to prepare for difficult conversations with clarity and intention
  • how to use a simple framework to keep conversations focused and productive
  • how to manage emotions and reduce defensiveness during challenging discussions
  • how to develop and practice a confronting statement for a real-life scenario

This session will be held through ON24.
