About the Speaker
Jamie Harmon, a proud Métis Nation of Alberta citizen, is a full-time Indigenous Education professional. Her Indigenous roots are influenced by her Cree and Ojibwe ancestry. As a Hungarian/Métis woman, she offers a unique, dual-lens approach to education, combining both Western and Indigenous perspectives.
As the founder of ICAST (Indigenous Cultural Awareness and Sensitivity Training), Jamie has developed specialized sessions that guide organizations through reconciliation efforts, fostering dialogue and driving systemic change. She has also created Indigenous curriculum now mandated as training in the health sector. With over 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur, business owner, a church leader and pastor, she has led staff, strategic planning, and community outreach, while providing psychological, emotional, and spiritual support.
