Message from President Steve Hrudey, P.Eng., on the Departure of Carol Moen, P.Eng. | APEGA

Message from President Steve Hrudey, P.Eng., on the Departure of Carol Moen, P.Eng.

Carol Moen, P.Eng. – until April 1 Registrar for APEGA – has chosen to decline the role of Chief Regulatory Officer (CRO), which will be part of APEGA’s operational structure going forward, and has decided on a different future path. John Corriveau, P.Eng., is acting as special advisor in this capacity while an open competition is held to fill the role of CRO.

Carol’s contributions across the organization have been numerous. In particular, I laud her for substantially enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of APEGA’s critical regulatory portfolios, as well as overseeing the major effort associated with APEGA’s Legislative Review. The Legislative Review and Registration Renewal projects are now led by Chief Operating Officer Heidi Yang, P.Eng.

Excellent progress has been made during Carol’s tenure as Registrar, and she has also defined a clear path on what remains to be done. These plans form a critical component of the 2017–2022 APEGA Strategic Plan.

On behalf of Council, I sincerely thank Carol for her professionalism and leadership. We wish her all the best in her future endeavours.

Dr. Steve E. Hrudey, P.Eng.
APEGA President
