APEGA Seeks Chief Regulatory Officer

APEGA is recruiting a key leader in the challenging, complex, and strategic process of continuing to make the organization a better and more effective regulator. The Chief Regulatory Officer, based in the Edmonton office, will work within an executive team dedicated to serving the public interest.

Reporting to the Registrar & Chief Executive Officer, the CRO will be responsible for regulatory operations, registration, examinations, Permits to Practice, investigations, enforcement, professional practice, and the legislative review. This dynamic area of self-regulation includes nine direct reports to the CRO and a total team of about 60 APEGA personnel.

The successful candidate will be a Professional Engineer or Professional Geoscientist licensed with APEGA (or eligible to become one). He or she will have 10-plus years of progressively more responsible experience at the senior leadership or management level. This experience must relate directly to engineering, geoscience, or both, and must include policy and program development, program administration, and resource management.
