Mental Health Awareness (Breakfast Session)

9:00 am - 10:30 am

Register by December 5, 2018

Join us for some breakfast and a presentation from a representative from the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). Signs and symptoms of common mental illnesses and insight into what the recovery journey may look like will be explored. Resources available will also be covered.

About the Presenter

Laurie Young left her 14-year career as a case manager with the Workers Compensation Board to follow her passion. She has been an active volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross, the Humane Animal Rescue Team, and Cure SMA Canada. She first became involved with the CMHA as a committee member for 2017's Defeat Depression Walk. Shortly afterwards, she was hired as a mental health educator. When Laurie is not opening the dialogue about mental health, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Tim, and their dogs, Anderson Cooper and Pepper.
