City of Lethbridge Capital Improvement Program 2018-2027 for Transportation Projects
Join us for a luncheon presentation by Darwin Juell, Richard Brummund, and Ahmed Ali on the current Capital Improvement Program for Transportation projects at the City of Lethbridge.
The Capital Improvement Program, or CIP, is a plan that identifies required capital projects and provides a planning schedule and financing plan. The 2018 - 2027 CIP was approved by City Council on May 23, 2017. The projects included in this Capital Improvement Program will shape our community for decades to come. The 2018-2027 CIP aims to fulfill City Council's commitment to complete projects previously approved, take care of existing asset plans for the future, and build new facilities that will enhance the quality of life of our citizens.
Some of the significant Transportation projects approved for funding in the next four year window include:
- Twinning of Whoop Up Dr W and construction of Metis Trail W to improve access to the new Leisure Center, and commercial and residential developments in West Lethbridge
- Twinning of University Drive W to improve access to the new developments in south side of West Lethbridge
- Reconstruction of 3 Ave S to enhance the streetscape and vibrancy, and promote multimodal transportation in Downtown Lethbridge.
- 7th Ave S bike boulevard
- Intersection improvements at several intersections
- Accessibility improvements projects
- Parking meter replacement project
- Transportation master plan
This presentation will include an overview of CIP project evaluation, list of projects, and details on the Transportation projects included in the current CIP. A Q&A will follow the presentation.
