Life can take a toll on our stress levels, moods, sense of control, sense of the future, and confidence. The best antidote to these impacts is self-compassion. This one-hour interactive session will help you rediscover self-compassion and provide some tools to build this skill.

Learning objectives:

  • review general information about anxiety, the body’s stress response, and skills for calming the body
  • explore the effects of worry, stress, and the emotional activators that contribute to anxiety
  • discuss helpful coping strategies

About the Speaker

Jeremy LivingstonJeremy Livingston is a recovery facilitator and peer facilitator for CMHA Edmonton’s Recovery College. He has studied philosophy at the graduate level and law. He is originally from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and has lived in Edmonton for the past nine years.

Tripti SinghTripti Singh is an experienced and insightful facilitator with the Canadian Mental Health Association Recovery College in Edmonton. She holds a master's and a doctorate degree in psychology from Lucknow University, India. She brings a unique blend of experience working as a university lecturer, researcher, industrial psychologist, and a facilitator. Tripti has worked in the mental health field in Canada, facilitating education and recovery-oriented presentations on various topics for diverse populations and ages. Originally from India, Tripti has lived in the UK, and has been living in Edmonton for the past 10 years. She is fluent in English, Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu.
