This session will provide a closer look at design parameters of structural anchorage to concrete. The session will explain updates to Annex D of Canadian Standards Association – CSA A23.3: Design of Concrete Structures. This session will focus on concepts to key elements of qualifications, certification, and inspection of post-installed mechanical and chemical adhesive concrete anchors. Attendees will learn about significant changes with Annex D which will be adopted by the National Building Code of Canada.

About the Speaker
Tapan Shah, P.Eng. is a field engineer for DEWALT Canada and a registered professional engineer in Alberta. He has over 20 years of industry experience, 14 years of which is in the Canadian construction industry in planning, design, construction, and maintenance of utility, industrial, commercial, and infrastructure (ICI) projects. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a major in structural engineering where his research focused on precast technology. Shah and his team provides technical support and recommendations to clients and consulting structural engineers with inquiries on code-compliant cast in place and post-installed concrete anchors. Shah provides his expertise on cost engineering and value analysis of medium to large scale ICI construction projects.
