Goodbye Energy Bear Market 2014; Hello Multi-Year Energy Bull Market 2018
General stock markets in Canada and the US have seen upside and profits for investors, but the energy and service sector has seen significant losses this year. We have been bearish since mid-2014 and—except for being supportive of investing in late 2015 to early 2016 for a rally in the market that lasted for around six months—this bearish posture has been correct.
We are now heading into tax loss selling season, the painful period for investors which can be brutal to energy stocks in energy bear market years. In the next two months, OPEC's production decisions will determine the magnitude of the upcoming decline in oil prices. The good news: we expect to have turned bullish over the next few months. This should set up an attractive low-risk buying opportunity. Come and hear why!
