As I near the end of my three-year term on APEGA Council, I am both excited and honoured about the opportunity to serve again. My time on Council has grown my passion for self-regulation and what it means for APEGA. It is a privilege to be self-regulating professions and the importance of that must be effectively communicated to our Members. Self-regulation is not a right; it must be earned by continuing to act proactively and responsibly.
I am a Professional Engineer with over 13 years’ experience in Municipal Engineering focusing largely on land development, transportation engineering, storm water engineering and hydrological analysis. I bring strong listening, leadership, and problem-solving skills to Council which enhance my ability to work as a team.
As a young female professional, born and raised in the Peace Country, I bring diversity and an understanding of the unique challenges face by rural northern communities. I offer a different point of view than that of professionals in larger centres.
I look forward to contributing to our professions and the challenge that serving on Council will bring. I urge each of you to exercise your right to vote and have a say in our Association.
