I am honored to be considered for a position on APEGA Council. I deliberated running for Council a number of times over the past 10 years, and am in a position today where I can confidently commit the time and effort required of a Councillor. The engineering profession has been a wonderful career choice for me over the past 20+ years, where I have been fortunate to have had great opportunities and experiences with wonderful organizations. Running my own consulting company was a great next step.
You will see from my resume that I have volunteered for a large portion of my career, from Chair of Women in APEGA to President of the Aurora Arabian Horse Association to Chief Mentor of the Banff Pipeline Workshop. Volunteering is a way to ensure those activities you are passionate about keep moving forward. Volunteering with APEGA is my way to ensure that the professions remain strong and consider the future.
I work with Human Factors, so I bring an approach that questions, that seeks all information (confirming and not confirming), that considers the person in the system, and that ensure that above all safety and reliability are managed.
