Branch News & Events

September 26 | Carbon Policy in Alberta and Beyond

Join the Fort McMurray Branch for a technical seminar on the carbon policy in Alberta and the rest of Canada.

October 2 | Information Session: Proposed Updates to the Authentication Standard

Understanding and properly implementing authentication, particularly in the digital space, is one of the most talked-about challenges licenced professionals face in their practice. The Authentication Standard Subject Matter Panel, consisting of subject matter experts and a select group of permit holders, has updated APEGA's Authenticating Professional Documents (now titled Authenticating Professional Work Products) practice standard to improve definitions and add clarity to this important professional responsibility. Register by September 27.

October 10 | President’s Visit—Fort McMurray

Beginning in October, APEGA President Nima Dorjee, P.Eng., will travel to each of APEGA's Alberta branches to engage with members and permit holders. He will share information about APEGA's regulatory initiatives and current member-focused activities, as well as listen to members to learn more about their work and what matters to them.

President's Visits are excellent opportunities for members to receive relevant, professions-related updates, to expand their networks, and to participate in valuable discussions about engineering and geoscience. Register by October 3.
