Position Summary

Reporting to the IT Applications Manager, the Systems Analyst’s role is to ensure the secure, stable, and reliable operation of all IT Applications in use at APEGA. Responsible for both technical assistance and support, along with business needs analysis and collaboration with business leaders to prioritize IT Application changes.

Responsibilities

  • Providing support for the All APEGA Applications (myAPEGA, Aptify, Sitefinity, Image Connect, Captiva and Formatta), to ensure they are stable, reliable, and meeting of the needs of the organization including:
    • Main point of contact for any queries related to any IT Application.
    • Provide subject matter of expertise on functionality of IT Applications.
    • Tracking and troubleshooting the applications in timely manner.
    • Addressing all IT Application support and request tickets.
    • Participate in testing all IT Application changes.
    • Manage application releases using established processes and practices.
    • Coordinating with vendors, developers, testers, and business leaders.
    • Briefing teams during issue resolution.
    • Performing installations, updates, upgrades for all IT Applications.
    • Creating and configuring system views and reports for end users.
  • Create user profiles.
  • Create process flows, bulk wizards, crystal report on demand.
  • Aptify configuration and administration.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation for applications/processes, implementation, configuration and fixes, to ensure they can be referenced in future.
  • Creating documentation after fixing a bug in the system.
  • Creating and updating current documentation for security access for each application.
  • Ensuring APEGA’s IT Applications remain safe and secure.
  • Create and maintain user permissions
  • Adhere to security policies for each application.
  • Make recommendations for new or revised security policies
  • Create user account and profile for each user according to security policies.

  • Experience in software development using Microsoft tools will be an asset.
  • Knowledge of system development life cycle, structured systems development concepts, as well as Agile development methodologies using Atlassian tools.
  • Knowledge and skills for Analyst/Application programming and related programming support function.
  • Excellent customer service skills and habits are a must along with highly developed organization and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to support end users at a junior to intermediate level.
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to train others as required.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in IST, computer science, software or computing networking or a related field.
  • 3 – 5 years of progressively responsible related experience in medium IT environments.
  • Certification in .Net, C#, SQL or other related certificates considered an asset.
  • Experience in software development using Microsoft tolls will be an asset.
  • Equivalencies may be considered.
  • This position will work remotely to start and will transition to the APEGA office when appropriate and within government guidelines. Employees are required to have a designated confidential workspace at home with quality internet
