Position Summary

Reporting to the IT Applications Manager, the Power Platform developer is responsible for providing technical expertise building and implementing business solutions - toward realizing value through levering tools including, but not limited to, SharePoint and the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement technical solutions to deliver value and improve efficiencies of business processes across APEGA
  • Work with other IT team members to develop solutions (applications and reports) using the MS Power Platform SharePoint, Angular JS, and .NET tools
  • Work with your team mates to analyze and document business processes to identify tools, operating environments, development platforms, and methodologies needed for technology solutions
  • Follow the APEGA SDLC process to ensure quality solutions are created
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to design, create, and organize SharePoint site collections that support efficient business process workflows, including e-forms and user interface design.
  • Maintain an effective UI/UX standard to guide the look and feel, content management practices, data management practices, standard web parts, and other functions of APEGA’s collaboration environment
  • Work with IT Applications Business Analysts as required to capture and analyze business workflows that will be automated, utilizing initial processes to document workflow, functional requirements, and design of solution
  • Seek to automate and streamline business processes toward adding value to core business functions
  • Work with IT team members and third parties, as required, to create custom solutions
  • Actively research emerging tools, strategies, and business needs to improve solutions
  • Collaborate, develop/maintain relationships, and provide direction with internal departments and end users when developing technology solutions
  • Documenting solutions “as built” to confirm against requirements
  • Provide optimization recommendations for APEGA’s strategic and long-term plans on collaboration tools, framework, and environment
  • Act as the subject-matter-expert, including cultivating and disseminating knowledge of collaboration best practices
  • Use professional discretion to encourage quality technology solutions, ensuring APEGA’s core values are reflected
  • Keep current with internal and external developments, trends, and topics
  • Actively engage APEGA leadership, where applicable
  • Build and maintain internal relationships with APEGA leaders, end users, and stakeholders
  • Assist with production issues (bugs, tickets), troubleshoot and debug, including striving to improve the efficiency and usability of technology solutions
  • Work with testing team to ensure technology solutions function as designed
  • Develop and maintain documentation of technical requirements and design of all solutions to accurately record business requirements
  • Recommend improvements to IT services and solutions

    Qualifications

    • Post-secondary degree in IST, computer science, software, or a related field
    • 3-5 years of progressively responsible related experience in medium sized IT environments
    • Certification in the MS Power Platform and Application security would be considered asset
    • Equivalencies will be considered
    • This position will work a flexible model that includes 50% of the time in office and 50% from their home office. Employees are required to have a designated confidential workspace at home with quality internet. This flexible work model will be reviewed periodically and updated as needed.
