Webinar | Critical Connection Design with Concrete Anchors

This session provides a closer look at the design parameters of structural anchorage to concrete and explains updates to Annex D of Canadian Standards Association - CSA A23.3: Design of Concrete Structures. This session will also focus on key elements of qualifications, certification, and inspection of post-installed mechanical and chemical adhesive concrete anchors. Attendees will learn about significant changes with Annex D, which will be adopted by the National Building Code of Canada.

About the Speaker

Tapan Shah, P.Eng., is a field engineer for DEWALT Canada. He has more than 20 years of industry experience in planning, design, construction, and maintenance of utility, industrial, commercial, and infrastructure (ICI) projects, 14 years of which are in the Canadian construction industry. He holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a major in structural engineering, where his research focused on precast technology. Tapan and his team provide technical support and recommendations to clients and consulting structural engineers with inquiries on code-compliant cast-in-place and post-installed concrete anchors. As a Responsible Member, Tapan also provides his expertise on cost engineering and value analysis of medium-to-large scale ICI construction projects.
